Coin Strike
Coin Strike is one of those games that explains itself in five seconds and then quietly eats an hour. You flick a coin from the bottom of the screen and try to slide it onto glowing tiles, nudging other coins out of the way. The physics feel weighty in a good way — a light tap barely moves anything, a hard swipe sends pieces skittering.
We played it offline on a two-hour train ride and never once needed a connection. Levels get clever fast: moving platforms, tiles that flip when you land on them, corners you have to bank shots around. There's a gentle learning curve, and the undo button saves you from rage-quitting after a bad flick.
What stuck with us is how clean the whole thing is. One finger, no timers breathing down your neck, no menus to wade through. It's the kind of game you open while waiting for the kettle to boil and somehow finish three levels before the water's ready.
